Read full description of the books:
From the moment author Jane Rave received her son Robert's momentous letter announcing he was gay, both their lives changed. While compiling the stories of their evolving relationship, Robert and Jane pondered whether unconditional love between a parent and child was possible after coming out. The resulting conversations and confessions, fraught with laughter and tears, helped them deal with their emotions. In "Conversations and Cosmopolitans: How to Give Your Mother a Hangover," Robert and Jane cover a diverse range of subjects, such as: "point-if-ication," being brainwashed into counting everything you eat and putting it into a point system; "me but Latin," what most gay men are looking for in a potential mate; and a "M'Lynn moment," based on Sally Field's character in "Steel Magnolias" who lashes out at her friends in a fit of despair. "Conversations and Cosmopolitans" chronicles an extraordinary friendship that grows stronger as mother and son learn to be more honest with each other-and more honest with themselves.
"A wise and witty display of one relationship's hits and misses." -Kirkus Discoveries

From my official bio:
Robert Rave is a former publicist who worked on numerous public relations campaigns and high profile special events in the lifestyle, fashion, nightlife and entertainment industries. Before heading up his own boutique firm, Robert began his career as a publicist at some of New York's most best known and prominent agencies. Robert currently lives in Los Angeles, CA and has retired from the sort of “spin” he writes about in SPIN.
From my real life bio:
Robert Rave stares at the computer for hours before writing. He can be found on any given weekend watching marathon reality TV programming on Bravo. Robert has a major thing for chocolate chip cookies (although now they're vegan). He falls asleep every night to the sound of 2 snoring French Bulldogs. Robert Rave also has started talking about himself in the third person. Uh oh.
